The Arizona Golf Association offers a variety of competitive tournament opportunities for men and women of all abilities. Whether you want to participate in Arizona’s prestigious state championships, senior series events, association tournaments, or team events, you are guaranteed to enjoy your experience playing in the Valley of the Sun.

AGA Tournaments

Men’s Championships

The AGA conducts ## State Championships for men and boys. AGA Championships offer golfers a highly competitive environment contested at some of Arizona’s most prestigious golf venues.

Women’s Championships

The AGA conducts four State Championships for women and girls, including the State Amateur Match Play, the State Amateur Stroke Play, the Four-Ball Stroke Play, and the State Amateur Seniors.

Association Tournaments

The AGA conducts association tournaments throughout the state for men and/or women. Players are flighted by handicap and multiple sets of tees are utilized to enhance the player’s experience and enjoyment. Association Tournaments provide both Gross & Net Prizes.

AGA Men’s Divisional tour events are divided into age divisions: Open (played at 6700 yards or longer), Masters (ages 40-49 and played at 6400 – 7000 yards), Senior (ages 50-59 and played at 6300 – 6800 yards), Super Senior(ages 60-69 and played at 6300-6800 yards) and Legends (age 70 and older and played at 6000-6400 yards).

USGA Qualifiers

The AGA conducts 18 USGA qualifiers throughout the year. Qualifiers are conducted for the US Open, US Women’s Open, US Senior Open, US Women’s Senior Open, US Amateur, US Women’s Amateur, US Junior, US Girls’ Junior, US Senior Amateur, US Women’s Senior Amateur, US Four-Ball, US Women’s Four-Ball, US Mid-Amateur, and US Women’s Mid-Amateur.

Entries for USGA qualifiers are handled through the United States Golf Association at usga.org.

Club State Medallion

Year-long event that stirs up excitement at AGA member clubs. The rewards of winning their Local State Medallion qualifier place the winners in the state spotlight. Club Medallion winners, in addition to winning the prestigious medallion, are invited to represent their club at the Club State Medallion Tournament in January.

Previously named AGA Member days, this is an opportunity for members to enjoy a day of golf with friends. There is no format, and members are welcome to bring guests.

Two times a year, in March and October, we host a member weekend at Mayan Palace, home of the Jack Nicklaus designed Vidanta Golf Course, located in Puerto Penasco, Mexico.

Charity Tournaments

There are more than 1,000 charity golf tournaments hosted throughout the year. We provide an opportunity for charity organizers to promote their charities and golf tournaments. Any charity interested in listing their event on our website can do so by contacting the AGA office.

AGA Tour Events

AGA Tour events consist of our major championships and non-major two-day competitions. Majors are played at scratch; non-majors are flighted based on handicap. Divisional tour events are divided into age divisions: Open (played at 6700 yards or longer), Masters (ages 40-49), Senior (ages 50-59), Super Senior (ages 60-69) and Legends (age 70 and older).

USGA Qualifiers

The AGA conducts multiple USGA qualifying rounds for Men & Women throughout the year including: the US Open, US Senior Open, US Amateur, US Senior Amateur, US Mid-Amateur and US Four-Ball championships.

Entries to US qualifiers are handled through the United States Golf Association.

Senior Cup Series Presented by OnCore Golf

This is a series of one-day Four-Ball events for members 50 and older with a handicap index of 36.4 and under.

Events take place between April and September. Teams accumulate points for their net finish in each event. The points accumulate individually so you do not have to play with the same partner for the duration of the series.

Club Team Championship

The format is a two-person scramble and is flighted based on team handicap. Clubs can choose their teams in any manner they choose. A series of qualifiers take place throughout the state in October and November. The Final 52 teams duke it out at the beginning of December to determine the overall winner for the season.

Just 4 Fun Days

AGA Just 4 Fun Days are just that…FUN! There is no format, just golf. Keep score, don’t keep score. Play a game within your group or just enjoy an afternoon of golf with friends. Just 4 Fun Days are open to members and non-members, women and men.
